It wasn\u2019t built from scratch but repurposed from a former fire station and the city\u2019s waterworks building. The aquarium spans more than 2.5 hectares and consists of several buildings interconnected. The idea, construction, and ongoing ownership belong to Landry\u2019s, Inc., a company specializing in such establishments for many years. The aquarium is thoughtfully designed, with all the buildings logically complementing each other. Inside, there are numerous exhibits catering to everyone\u2019s interests, with more than 200 species of fish and animals grouped by their habitats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to pavilions showcasing fish and animals, the aquarium features various interactive exhibits, restaurants, entertainment zones, and attractions, including a large Ferris wheel. One of the restaurants is designed so that diners can watch marine life while enjoying their meals, as the aquarium is integrated into the walls of the establishment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Aquarium_Inhabitants\"><\/span>Aquarium Inhabitants<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When planning a visit, it\u2019s essential to allocate enough time: a quick hour-long visit won\u2019t suffice. The aquarium houses over 200 fascinating exhibits. Visitors can see large sea turtles, fearsome alligators, a giant octopus, catfish, bullfrogs, clownfish, and many other marine creatures. The facility\u2019s owners have thoughtfully arranged the exhibits: not only have they created environments that closely mimic the natural habitats of the animals, immersing visitors in the marine world, but they\u2019ve also developed thematic locations. For example, the pavilion housing the giant octopus is called \u201cThe Sunken Ship,\u201d and a small train ride through a tunnel with glass-arched ceilings and walls, offering a view of a vast, mysterious ocean ecosystem, is named \u201cShark Voyage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to fish, the aquarium has several pavilions with animals. One features tropical inhabitants like frogs, reptiles, and birds typical of the Texas region. This location is called \u201cThe Rainforest.\u201d Among the most interesting residents are the rare red-bellied piranha, poisonous freshwater stingrays, large tarantulas, and a six-meter-long python. \u201cThe Sunken Temple\u201d is another pavilion filled with unusual but fascinating creatures from oceans worldwide. \u201cMaharaja\u2019s Temple\u201d offers an encounter with proud and fierce tigers, who feel like the true rulers of the animal kingdom. One of the most popular is \u201cZoologist for a Day.\u201d Participants get a behind-the-scenes look at the aquarium and spend a day caring for its inhabitants. Those involved can observe animal training sessions, interact with caretakers, ask questions, and even feed the animals and fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For adults, a thrilling adventure awaits with the \u201cWild Dreams Overnight\u201d program. This event allows participants to learn more about rainforests, their inhabitants, the dangers that humans face there, and the ecological problems of this ecosystem. Brave visitors can even spend a night next to tigers. This program is perfect for testing one\u2019s courage and scouting skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another exciting program is the <em>Sea Safari Summer Camp<\/em> for young explorers. The organizers have thought of everything down to the smallest detail: from greeting guests at the entrance and dressing them in themed costumes to festive programs and cake during a special lunch.
